Out and About
Atlantic House benefits from surroundings that encompass all one might look for in a holiday.
Choose from surfing (several of the UK’s best surfing schools), surf boarding, paddle boarding, canoeing, kite surfing, water skiing, coasteering (leaping off rocks in a wreckless fashion!), sailing, coastal walking to rival the best anywhere and world class golf. The beach, a stone’s throw away, has surf to die for and is a small piece of heaven for families and small (large) children. Plentiful rock pools to provide hours of fascination. Still energetic? How about a bike ride from Wadebridge to Padstow in one direction, viewing wildlife along the Camel Estuary as you go, or Bodmin in the other.
Hungry? Padstow is home to Rick Steins Michelin starred restaurant which also offers several one day cooking courses. Nathan Outlaw is in Rock and Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’ at Watergate Bay. Michelin stars abound! There are also many other restaurants and pubs where the food is good and the prices more digestible!
There is also plenty of culture on offer. St Ives has the Tate Gallery and art studios galore but do not forget Newlyn and Penzance if you are an art lover. The Minack Theatre (the famous theatre in the cliff) near Penzance should not be missed and Marazion has St Michael’s Mount just across the water or causeway. Then there are the Eden Project and many gardens and lovely houses to visit.
Polzeath itself has several shops including a good grocery store, post office, restaurant and lively cafes.
We are able to introduce you to these and many other attractions and activities through our extensive personal connections.
